Do you think we should give monetary incentives to the KP2 students to motivate them to get better grades?

In my opinion, the KP2 students shouldn’t be given the money in order to motivate them to get better grades. For me this is just not right. This will make it become worst. Why I'm saying that this is not the right thing because it will make them not concentrate on their study, it will lead them to more social problem and will burden their own self.

The first point that I disagree with this statement is because they will not concentrate on their study. We take an example. In our own university, almost 90 % of the students get the loan from MARA. In that case they got a monthly allowance. For Diploma student is about RM 536 while for Degree student is RM 595. With this amount of money they already not concentrate on their study how this incentive will make them want to study? It just will make it worst. The student will go enjoy their monthly allowance plus their incentive. They will feel that they are in the heaven because they have a lot of money.

Next point is it will lead them to social problem. Yes it is kind a harsh statement but in reality it can happened. When they got a lot of money (monthly allowance + incentive) they will go to enjoy. They will go overnight at the city, they having fun. All of this just will make the social problem increase because the lecturer cannot do anything even the management of university because they are out from the campus. So they can do whatever they want to do. As an example, before this they cannot go to a club for clubbing because not having enough money but when they got the incentive, maybe just maybe they can go. From here it will lead them to the social problem.

The next point is this incentive will burden them. What I meant it will burden them is that they will feel that everyone including the lecturers, the management, their parents and even friends will be hoping that they will get a better grades because they already been given the incentive. When they felt this is a burden it will make them don’t want to study and even worst, quit their study.
As a conclusion, for me giving the KP2 students the money incentive is not a proper way to motivate them. For me it must be start from the parents, friends, lecturer and the student itself. We have help the students. Give them the courage and show them the way how to improve their grades by sending them to any motivation talk.

This is my opinion. I hope everyone have their own opinion.

That’s all
Thank You

I like your opinion hirtifah. There are many ways to solve their problems. but by giving monetary incentives it a worst solution because it will give us a lot questions, either it really worth it or not.So as friends we should help them. :)
